Core Thesis

Ancient civilisations were prime-literate. They recognised the irreducible structure of reality — the same primes we measure with oscilloscopes, they encoded in myth, monument, and calendar. Not because they had modern mathematics, but because they lived closer to the signal, before composite civilisation buried it in abstraction.

Mythology is not primitive science. It is prime science expressed as allegory — a social technology for encoding irreducible truths into cultural memory across generations.

The World Tree connecting nine realms maps directly to the prime tree architecture:

The pyramid encodes Earth’s dimensions using ONLY source primes {2, 3, 5}:

43,200 = 2⁵×3³×5² = half-day = Earth scale factor
Cubit = π/6 − Φ² (source primes in the unit of measurement)
28 fingers/cubit = perfect number from Mersenne prime 7 (the yolk INSIDE the instrument)

🧵 Greek — The Moirai (Three Fates)

Three sisters weaving the thread of fate = prime 3 applied to time/destiny:

Clotho (spinner) = SOURCE — creates the irreducible thread (prime input)
Lachesis (allotter) = SCAFFOLD — measures and assigns the thread’s length (structure)
Atropos (the unturnable) = COMPOSITE RETURN — cuts the thread (identity departs binary, returns to source)

The thread itself is irreducible (prime). What they weave from it is composite. You cannot argue with Atropos — she IS the factorisation that eventually decomposes every composite back to its primes.

The 7-day week is the most resilient calendar unit in human history:

7 is prime — it doesn’t divide into months, years, or lunar cycles

Named after the 7 classical celestial bodies (Sun, Moon, Mars, Mercury, Jupiter, Venus, Saturn)

The Naga is the ancient analogy of the Mandelbrot set’s inner/outer relationship:

This is not metaphor imposed retroactively. The ancients placed the serpent at the boundary because that’s where emergence happens — and the Mandelbrot set proves mathematically that the boundary between bounded and unbounded is where infinite complexity resides at zero measure.

The Triple Membrane — LAW (Land, Air, Water)

The Naga guards the junction of ALL THREE membranes:

Land (solid) — resist, captured, composite
Air (gas) — give, dispersed, volatile
Water (liquid) — the mediating membrane between them

This maps directly to The Shedding’s LAW framework (Land Air Water = the three domains of governance). Growth and shedding occur at all three membrane boundaries simultaneously — the same act viewed from opposite sides. Snakes literally shed at water’s edge. The oldest Naga artefacts appear at water’s edge. The etymology lives where the membranes meet because that’s where the live boundary is richest.

The Forked Tongue — Binary Sensor at the Membrane 🐍🔥

The snake’s forked tongue is prime 2 as a sensing apparatus — a literal binary split sampling the boundary gradient from both sides simultaneously:

Fork = ± split — two tines taste left and right of the axis of symmetry, Jacobson’s organ resolves two inputs into one signal. The tongue IS the binary distinction made flesh.
“Speaks with forked tongue” — pejorative, but structurally the most honest instrument. Anyone reporting accurately from the Mandelbrot membrane MUST sound ambiguous, because the boundary genuinely is neither inside nor outside. Some snakes grow a single-use calcified tooth (the egg tooth) whose ONLY function is to breach the egg membrane at birth. It is then absorbed or discarded.

This is Nagaπ’s Law in embryology:

Inside the egg = captured (composite accumulation during gestation)

Good metaphors ARE primes — irreducible, scale-invariant, membrane-permeable across time and culture. A bad metaphor is composite: it works in one context, one era, then decays. The Naga endures across millennia because it IS the thing it describes.

“Primal” = prime-al. The etymology writes itself. A primal quality is one that cannot be factored further — it passes through every cultural membrane unchanged. This is why the Naga carries as much gravity today with the Mandelbrot set as it did at humanity’s earliest collective recollection.

An ONM joke (19 Jun 2026): “Which came first, the chicken or the egg? Neither — it was the ROOSTER.”

Rooster = prime input from outside the system
Egg = scaffold waiting (the 6k±1 sieve, unfertilised)
Chicken = composite output (complex organism built from prime + scaffold)

🪶 Egyptian — The Weighing of the Heart (Duat as Factorisation Engine)

The afterlife journey through the Duat is a factorisation engine — the dead enter loaded with composites, and the Duat decomposes them back to primes. What survives is irreducible.

Ma’at’s feather = Re(s) = ½ = the equilibrium/critical line. Ma’at herself — her name means “that which is straight” = the critical line, straight, vertical, Re(s) = ½

🐍 Mesoamerican — Kukulkán/Quetzalcoatl (The Equinox Serpent)

Chichén Itzá’s El Castillo: at equinox, shadow creates 7 triangles descending the staircase to the carved serpent head at the base.

Technological: The bag carries techniques — irrigation, masonry, metallurgy, astronomy. Each sacred site along the great circle received the “pollination.”

Some carvings show the Apkallu figure with fish scales on its body — not just wings and bag. This completes a triple-membrane encoding that maps directly to LAW (Land Air Water):

Fish Scales and Sea Migration: The fish-scale motif hints at two things simultaneously:

Origin from the sea — migration of human settlements from coastal/riverine origins inland. The figure carries the memory of water-origin on its body.
Cross-oceanic spread — 8,062 miles between Ecuador and Mesopotamia. The same iconography on both sides of an ocean demands either independent convergence on the same prime truth (possible but unlikely at this specificity) or physical contact via sea routes. The fish scales = “we came by water.”

This connects to Fuller’s Naga sailormen and the sacred-sites-great-circle: the pollination network WAS maritime. The bag carriers followed the bus (water) — they didn’t build roads.

Why Allegory?

Allegory is the natural encoding format for prime information because:

Primes are irreducible — allegory preserves the whole (you can’t “summarise” a myth without losing it)
Primes resist factorisation — myths resist rational deconstruction (they feel “true” without being provable)
Primes are from outside — myths describe encounters with the numinous (information from beyond the system)
